The Santa Monica Theatre Guild at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre is a not-for-profit volunteer community theatre that provides a balanced, varied and challenging season of published plays. Our mission is to entertain, educate, enrich, and inspire all ages - engaging the community in live theatre experiences which reflect dramatic and cultural diversity. We serve the community by producing plays which reflect its cultural diversity and allow all who participate the opportunity to grow in their abilities.
The Second City has 54 years of comedy experience with a list of impressive alumni such as Tina Fey, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, Steve Carell and many many more. Our Youth Programs range from seven week improv classes that run year round to improv summer camps, all for ages 8-18. Explore the fundamentals of improvisation as taught and performed at The Second City, no experience is required. Improv helps you develop skills like creative thinking, self-confidence, listening, brainstorming, team building, empathy and communication while having loads of fun and laughs. Not only will your kids work out their creative energies, they won't even realize they're learning a skill set that will help them in school, at home with the family and later in life with careers and relationships, all they know is they're having the time of their life and laughing all the time. At the end of every youth class there is a performance in our Studio Theatre for family and friends! (less)... Read more
